THIS INDENTURE made on the seventh day of January in the ninth year of the reign of our sovereign lord George the second by the grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland king defender of the Faith and so forth and in the year of our lord one thousand seven hundred thirty five
BETWEEN Thomas Watts of the city of London esquire of the one part and John Anderdon of Bridgwater in the County of Somerset doctor of physick of the other part
WITNESSETH that the said Thomas Watts for and in consideration of the sume of five shillings of lawfull money of Great Britain to him in hand paid by the said John Anderdon at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the Receipt whereof he the said Thomas Watts doth hereby acknowledge and for diverse other good causes and valuable considerations him hereunto moving hath bargained and sold and by these presents doth bargain and sell unto the said John Anderdon his executors administrators and assigns
ALL that upper dwelling house garden and stable wherein the said John Anderson now lives situate lyeing and being next to the castle house on the north side of a street called Chandos Street in Bridgwater aforesaid and all buildings edifices gardens orchards cellars appurtenances
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said upper dwelling house garden and stable and all and singular other the premises with the appurtenances herein before mentioned or hereby bargained and sold with their and every of their rights members and appurtenances unto the said John Anderson his executors administrators and assigns from the day next before the day of the date of these presents unto the full end and terms of one whole year from thence next ensueing and fully to be compleat and ended
YIELDING AND PAYING therefore unto the said Thomas Watts his heirs or assigns the rent of one hopper (or at the end or expiration of the said terme if lawfully demanded) and no more
TO the intent and purpose that by virtue of these presents and of the statute for transferring of uses into possession the said John Anderdon may be in the actual possession of the said upper dwelling house garden and stable with all and singular the appurtenances and be thereby enabled to accept and take a grant and release of the Reverson and fulieritance there of to him his heirs and assigns for ever by the said indenture intended to be made between the said Thomas Watts of the one part and the said John Anderdon of the other part and to bear date the day next after the day of the date of these presents
IN WITNESS whereof the partys above named their hands and seals to these presents interchangeably have sett the day and year first above written.
