Notes from the 19 November 1832 edition of the Bridgwater Alfred:
Auction of all the property of Mr Thomas Mullins of Goathurst, including his furniture, alcohol, law books, livestock, silver, plants, vehicles, shrubs and much more.
Messieurs Crawcour of London and Paris advertise their upcoming visit to Bridgwater and their new teeth fillings.
Inquest at Broomfield on the body of Charles Day, aged 62, who left a widow and three children. His body was found close to his home not far from the Taunton to Stowey turnpike – he had been out that Sunday night for a few drinks in Broomfield. He seems to have died of concussion while trying to steal an oak rail.
Inquest on the body of another unknown man washed up at Porlock Weir – the body was badly composed and probably one of the crew of a lost Bridgwater Collier sunk off Naas Point.
Editorial against Reformer J. Acland. Continuing from the previous edition.
Letter and editorial about Church Reform, the letter from ‘a Reformer but not a Revolutionist’ from Chard.
Immensely large fish caught at Minehead.
