This is The Story of Bridgwater Parish Church by Thomas Bruce Dilks and looks at the history of St Mary’s Church. Dilks was a historian of Bridgwater and his work was excellent. This text was digitised from the 9th edition. As this contains photographs by Douglas Allen, who did not begin working in the town until the mid 1950s, and also an organ fund of 1961 was mentioned, it is presumed publication was in the mid 1960s.
